This is a short story I wrote for an online writing forum years ago. They would hold contests based on various subjects. Sadly, I can't even remember the name of the website. Its initals were OI. The old writing website is long gone, so here is the newly edited story.
The story is short and melancholy, based on several different dreams.
I hope you enjoy it.
This is a short story I wrote a couple years back. I did a little editing and added an illustration to share it here. It's an all ages cryptozoology adventure based on a Northwest river rumor.
A reporter is invited to a remote town and gets involved in searching for the creature. Things get a little out of hand.
I hope you enjoy it.
This was my first attempt at an eight page mini comic I created in under 24 hours.
This exercies was inspired by Marshal Lee's Youtube video, How to Make Your First Comic Book (An Easy Way to Start) Mini comics are a great way to dip your toes into the creation process.
I divided two letter sized pieces of paper in four sections, for a total of 8 pages. I then made a list of what I wanted to happen on each page. I then drew a thumbnail of each page on a single piece of paper, adjusting along the way.
Now that the foundation had been set, I did rough pencils for each page. I then inked the pages, erased the pencil lines and scanned them into my PC at a very large 600dpi. I used Gimp to increase the contrast, cleanup a few mistakes, and fill in the large black areas. I then used Krita to do the lettering. Finally, for the web edition, I separated out each page and resized them.
Here is a printable version, it's designed to be printed on both sides of the page then assembled.
Here's another mini comic I created as part of a drawing exercise over at Marhsal Lee's Triple A creator's Discord.
The concept was to create a super hero team, and I decided to do something very low key, where the costumes are basically clothes with a logo on them. Their powers are more like certain aptitudes, nothing too fantastic.
