This was my first attempt at an eight page mini comic I created in under 24 hours.
This exercies was inspired by Marshal Lee's Youtube video, How to Make Your First Comic Book (An Easy Way to Start) mini comics are a great way to dip your toes into the creation process.
I divided two letter sized pieces of paper in four sections, for a total of 8 pages. I then made a list of what I wanted to happen on each page. I then drew a thumbnail of each page on a single piece of paper, adjusting along the way.
Now that the foundation had been set, I did rough pencils for each page. I then inked the pages, erased the pencil lines and scanned them into my PC at a very large 600dpi. I used Gimp to increase the contrast, cleanup a few mistakes, and fill in the large black areas. I then used Krita to do the lettering. Finally, for the web edition, I separated out each page and resized them.
Here is a printable version, it's designed to be printed on both sides of the page then assembled. Download the PDF version
